I was most looking forward to the next few days of our trip, as we were going to be staying in Banff National Park. I had been once before and fell head over heels for this awe-inspiring place. The lakes here are plentiful and perfectly blue, the mountains extend toward the sky in sharp and jagged peaks, and the European influence in the surrounding towns transports you to an unexpected part of the world. We all had our noses pressed against the glass of the windows as we rolled into Banff, stunned by the scenery and mesmerized by the trains that were following the natural twists and turns of the land and disappearing into mountainside tunnels. Our first stop was at Lake Louise, which to date, is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I was in my happy place as we sat quietly at the waters edge, walked around the board walk, and took a thousand pictures.

The day was ending all too quickly, as we shopped for some dinner then headed to our reserved campsite to settle in for the night.

to be continued...

*Note* Since i was traveling with two incredible photographers, I decided to let them do the camera work, and I stuck to photos with my phone, only. As soon as I'm done with my iPhone recap, I'll be sure to post some of their beautiful work!
