Washington Coast // Honeymoon Road Trip Pt. 5
Read Pt. 1 // Pt. 2 // Pt. 3 // Pt. 4
After spending a few days in Northern Washington, it was time to make our way south. Our first stop along the way was Hoh Rainforest, which I was very excited to re-visit and to introduce to Steve. However, when we reached the park, we realized we weren’t the only ones with that idea for the day, and found ourselves at the back of a very long line. The park was at capacity and they were only letting one car in for every one car that exited. So we made the decision to skip Hoh and continue our journey down the coast.
Our next stop was Ruby Beach, the first of many beautiful and rocky beaches we visited along the West Coast. The fog was thick, as we walked down to the beach, making it so we could hardly see in either direction. However, after just a few minutes, it cleared to reveal blue skies and a sunny day. As we continued our journey, we realized this is normal for the coastline, and were in awe every time we watched the big cloud banks roll in.
Each time we stopped to walk along the beaches, we found ourselves admiring works of art created by other visitors, watched many dogs run in and out of the water—tails wagging, and saw many other people enjoying the outdoors as much as we were. After living without much social interaction, just seeing others enjoying their Summer was so refreshing.
