Shelter + Roost // Cross-Country Road Trip Pt. 1

If you follow me on Instagram, then you're well aware that I just traveled thousands of miles across the country. I was moving from DC back to Utah and decided to make an adventure out of it. One of the places I most wanted to stop was Nashville, TN. I have heard great things about Nashville and had to check it out for myself.

Near Nashville is a vacation rental company called

Shelter + Roost

that I follow on Instagram (thanks to my sister who introduced me). I had admired their photos and dreamed about spending some time in one of their beautiful homes, but i didn't think I'd ever get the chance to visit. Well, a couple days before I set off, I was able to secure a two night stay at their newest home- Nest!

Staying in Nest was a dream. It's secluded (they call it their "cabin in the woods"), quiet, and the inside is absolutely stunning! It's filled with antiques and decor that is filled with character. There are two bedrooms- the master and the loft, a fully equipped kitchen, and a washer and dryer. The loft is definitely the showstopper, with it's wall of (real) books. My dad was so entranced and blown away by how old all of the books are.

I was able to sleep so well while staying here, it was definitely the best sleep I got during the entire trip. I loved waking up each morning and watching the squirrel run down the fence outside my window, making steak and vegetables to break up our road trip eating habits, and being able to relax with a movie before bed.

I took so many pictures I had to double up a lot of them so this post didn't go on forever...

If you are in the Nashville area or are planning to visit, I highly recommend staying with

Shelter + Roost

! I have never enjoyed accommodations so much! Stay tuned for a tour of Nest's grounds, coming soon!
